Chile Earthquake

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Chile or who has assocations with people there.  For those of you who do not know (hard to believe) there was an 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile this past Saturday, the fifth largest on record according to the USGS. I just heard recently that the earthquake was so large that it actually knocked the earth off it’s axis by about 3 inches and shortened our day by 1.26 millionths of a second.  I just found this pretty interesting and thought I’d put up a brief post about it.  Here is a link for more information.
